Folahan Amoo Adekola, a Fellow of the Nigerian Academy of Science is a Professor of Analytical and Environmental Chemistry in the Department of Industrial Chemistry, Faculty of Physical Sciences, University of Ilorin with 38 years of university teaching, research and administrative experience. He has served University of Ilorin in several capacities including Sub-Dean of Postgraduate School, Head of Department of Chemistry, Director of General Studies Division and Dean of the Faculty of Physical Sciences. 

His areas of research interests include Analytical and Environmental Chemistry with emphasis on the followings: Water and waste water treatments, Environmental pollution studies, Colloidal chemistry and adsorption studies. Prof Adekola has successfully supervised 20 PhDs and more than 40 Masters’ theses in the area of Analytical, Environmental and Industrial Chemistry. He has published over 200 research papers in good peer-reviewed scientific journals.
